@shaukat - thanks for writing this piece. It captures many of our sentiments. Modi’s India is not the India I grew up in, it’s changing rapidly and breaks my heart to see how he is influencing people and encouraging division.

Great analysis of the current state of political affairs in India. It is truly become a highly polarized society and Hindu religion is now a new political agenda in getting votes and staying in power for the Modi regime.

There is nothing about religion, it is all politics, but now it has resorted to a sword. The steadfastness to rituals has buried the principals of it all.

Well written and a thoughtful perspective of the dishonesty of the being .

Thanks Shaukat for an interesting perspective of the situation of Ram Mandir

This is an insightful analysis of India’s growing social psychosis. The forces of globalisation and modernisation have created deep anxieties, resulting in

feelings of alienation, humiliation, anger and the urge for imagined justice through revenge by its Hindu majority. Populists have exploited the opportunity by offering the usual scapegoats: minorities, immigrants and the liberal elites. But revenge never heals psychological wounds for long. Only forgiveness and empathy can do that. Meanwhile, the populist politicians are busily creating a second, more pervasive and insidious partition of India.

So well explained, Shaukat. Especially debunking the argument that a destruction of a temple to build a mosque deserves a vengeful reversal in another era.

History teaches us lessons so we avoid mistakes of the past, not repeat them.
